Seoul's New COVID-19 Cases Exceed 50 Again Yesterday... 10 Confirmed at Yongsan Military Welfare Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] More than 50 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Seoul yesterday, including a cluster infection among coworkers at the Armed Forces Welfare Service in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
According to Seoul City, as of midnight on the 12th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 53 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative number of confirmed cases to 6,505.
Among the new confirmed cases that day, 30 were classified as cluster infections, 16 were contacts of confirmed cases, 1 was imported from overseas, and 6 cases are still under investigation for their infection routes.
At the Armed Forces Welfare Service in Yongsan-gu, where the cluster infection was confirmed, one resident from another city or province who works there was first confirmed positive on the 10th, followed by 13 additional confirmed cases on the 11th, bringing the total related confirmed cases to 14. Among them, 10 reside in Seoul.
Confirmed cases related to Yeoksam Station in Gangnam-gu increased by 4 on the same day (total 19), Ace Hope Care Center in Dongdaemun-gu by 3 (total 39), Geumho Senior Nursing Home in Seongdong-gu by 3 (total 24), an insurance company in Gangseo-gu by 2 (total 30), a gym in Gangnam-gu by 2 (total 50), and CJ Telenix in Gangnam-gu by 2 (total 28).
So far, 5,776 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 650 are currently in isolation.
