On the morning of the day, President-elect Biden, along with his wife Jill Biden, attended a memorial ceremony in front of the Korean War Veterans Memorial located in the Korean War Memorial Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This memorial was erected by the Korean War Veterans Association.
President-elect Biden personally carried a wreath with his wife and laid it at the memorial. After laying the wreath, he placed his hand over his heart to pay respects to the fallen soldiers who participated in the Korean War. On this special day, Biden did not make any particular remarks regarding the Korea-U.S. alliance.
