The training took place from August 5 to November 1, with 125 teachers participating. Under the vision of "Happy democratic citizens who empathize and communicate through artistic sensitivity," the program was held over 11 sessions to strengthen the arts education capabilities of teachers and schools and to expand students' daily experiences with the arts.
The program was divided into seven parts: ▲ Kinetic Artist ▲ Sound Designer ▲ Picture Books That May or May Not Be Seen ▲ Dramatic Experience of Educational Musicals ▲ Meeting of One Semester One Book and Educational Drama ▲ Aesthetic Experience Classes Through Art ▲ Happy Art Experience.
Teachers who participated in the training said, "We experienced the arts field, which we had only vaguely thought about, and the training program was structured with content that can be applied in the classroom, which gave us confidence that we can do it." They also expressed hope that related training would be regularly offered during the semester or school breaks.
Kim Seon-chi, Director of the Physical Education, Health, and Arts Department, said, "The activation of school arts education was planned with the intention that it starts by strengthening teachers' arts education capabilities and having students experience the arts in the classroom." He added, "Starting with this training, we will support and expand diverse and systematic training based on the feedback from teachers to revitalize arts education."
