The 'Regional Win-Win Cooperation Support Project' is a project that discovers and supports win-win cooperation models for regional community contribution by utilizing various human and material infrastructures of local universities.
Busan Institute of Science and Technology was selected for the crowdfunding-type project of the Regional Win-Win Cooperation Support Project in December last year, and in collaboration with Busan Buk-gu Office, operated three courses for seniors, employees, and women with career interruptions: the 'Silver Tea Ceremony Psychological Counselor Course,' the 'Silver Tea Ceremony Psychological Counselor Certification Course,' and the 'Tea Sommelier (Black Tea) Course.'
This project was conducted to strengthen the role as a central institution for solving regional issues using the university's human and material infrastructure and regional innovation, and to develop a regional community cooperation and contribution model through collaboration between the university and related local organizations.
Agreements were made with the Korea Tea Therapy Education Association, Deokcheon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Busan Buk-gu Senior Club, and Hanmaeum Daycare Center Co., Ltd., establishing a collaborative system for recruiting trainees and post-management.
With a total project budget of 24 million KRW, including 20 million KRW from Busan City, 2 million KRW from Busan Buk-gu Office, and 2.17 million KRW from crowdfunding, the 'Silver Tea Ceremony Psychological Counselor Course' and others were operated from August 2020, producing 64 trainees.
Through this program, it achieved results by providing health management and new future planning opportunities for seniors preparing for the super-aged society and the 100-year era, as the elderly population in Busan exceeded 600,000.
