At the large-scale rally where elementary care workers from all over the country gathered, about 62% of the 620 care workers from the Jeonnam region, totaling 385 people, participated in the strike.
Earlier, the Jeonnam Provincial Council Education Committee (Chairperson Yoo Seongsu) also emphasized during the administrative audit of the Yeosu, Gwangyang, Damyang, Gokseong, Gurye, and Goheung Education Support Offices held on the 6th that "care workers who participated in the strike must receive COVID-19 diagnostic tests before returning to school and be allowed to go to work to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection to students."
In response, the Jeonnam Teachers' Union stated, "Care workers who participated in the large-scale rally should undergo COVID-19 testing before returning to work to ensure that the safety net for students and the local community is not compromised."
