Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, School Arts Education Festival 'Non-face-to-face Performance'
Various Performances Presented by 33 Elementary, Middle, and High Schools Participating from the 10th to 12th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 9th that it will hold the 'School Arts Education Festival' online from the 10th to the 12th to revitalize school arts education, which has been subdued due to COVID-19.
The Office of Education explained that this online performance is intended to provide an opportunity for arts club students, who have been honing their skills while observing social distancing and quarantine rules at schools, to present their work. The festival will be divided into online 'performances' and 'exhibitions.'
At the Gyeongbuk Office of Education Cultural Center's Grand Performance Hall, a total of 33 schools will participate over three days, broadcasting various performances such as orchestras, fusion music, cheer dance, plays, and musicals through the Gyeongbuk Office of Education's YouTube channel, Makkeulmeokkeul TV.
The 'exhibition' will be conducted in the form of videos showcasing about 200 works created by students and teachers from more than 10 schools. From December 7, these can be viewed anytime and anywhere through videos or VR virtual galleries.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik said, "Through this year's festival, I hope our students, who have been mentally and physically exhausted due to COVID-19, will find healing and develop a continuous appreciation for the arts," adding, "We will continue to actively support school arts education to nurture students who live and grow with the arts."
