Japan Reports Over 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases for Two Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] The number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Japan has remained in the 1,000s for two consecutive days.
According to the local public broadcaster NHK's tally, as of 6:30 PM on the 6th, Japan reported 1,123 new COVID-19 cases that day. The cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 106,916.
In Japan, 1,048 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed the previous day, surpassing the 1,000 mark for the first time in 76 days since August 21 (1,034 cases).
