Russia Reports 20,582 New COVID-19 Cases in One Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young]The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Russia increased by more than 20,000 in one day on the 6th (local time).
The Russian government's COVID-19 Import and Spread Prevention Headquarters announced that "in the past day, 20,582 new cases were confirmed in 85 regions nationwide, including the capital Moscow, bringing the total number of infections to 1,733,440." This number of confirmed cases is a record high.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases ranks fourth in the world, following the United States, India, and Brazil.
On the same day, Moscow alone reported 6,253 new confirmed cases in one day, increasing the total confirmed cases to 456,689.
Compared to the previous day (5,255 cases), this is an increase of nearly 1,000 cases.

There were 378 additional deaths nationwide in Russia, bringing the total death toll to 29,887.
