Uljin-gun Reaches Agreement with Public Service Workers' Union... Expansion of Working Hours Exemption and Leave Guarantee
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Uljin County, Gyeongbuk Province (County Governor Jeon Chang-geol) reached an agreement on 108 articles of the collective agreement and 8 supplementary articles with the Public Service Workers' Union on the 6th at the county office's main conference room.
The main contents include guaranteeing union activities, expanding exemption from working hours, guaranteeing leave of absence, and providing welfare benefits equivalent to public officials, significantly improving working conditions and treatment. Previously, both labor and management narrowed their differences through two rounds of negotiations starting from September 3.
Jang Heon-gi, Director of Administrative Support Division, said, "We expect that the working conditions and treatment of public service workers will improve through this agreement," and added, "We will do our best to create a happy Uljin for everyone based on mutual understanding and trust between labor and management."

Meanwhile, the Uljin County Public Service Workers' Union is composed of public service workers affiliated with Uljin County Office. Currently, there are 106 union members working on the front lines of each department.
