Honam University CHAMP, Special Lecture Inviting Jang Cheonggang, Consul General of Guangzhou, China
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University Graduate School of Social Convergence's 'China Chief Executive Program (CHAMP)' recently held a special lecture at the IT Square Auditorium, inviting Zhang Chenggang, Consul General of China in Gwangju, as a guest lecturer for about 50 students of the 5th term, the university announced on the 5th.
On this day, Consul General Zhang gave a special lecture titled "Achievements Since the 71 Years of the Founding of New China and the Development of China-Korea Relations," introducing the remarkable growth achieved since the founding of New China 71 years ago using various indicators, emphasizing that "China will continue to contribute significantly to the global economy and human life even in the post-COVID era."
Consul General Zhang stated, "Since Gwangju, which declared itself an AI-centered city, has a development strategy that aligns with the 'dual circulation development strategy,' the core of China's 5th Plenary Session, exchanges between Gwangju and key Chinese cities have become even more important," adding, "For China-Korea relations to mature further, regional-level exchanges must become more active."
The CHAMP program, consisting of offline lectures by Korean and Chinese scholars and experts as well as study tours in China, will continue until the 9th of next month.
This program, jointly established by Honam University Graduate School of Social Convergence and the Confucius Institute, provides a systematic curriculum on Chinese history, culture, politics, economy, society, diplomacy, and language to better understand China, which has emerged as a G2 power.

Additionally, all participants receive a certificate of completion from the president of Honam University and various benefits such as enrollment in the Confucius Institute's Chinese conversation course.
