Seven Employees of the National Health Insurance Service, Including One Who Received Bribes for Awarding a 13 Billion Won Project, Referred to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Employees of the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) and external contractors who received bribes during the process of commissioning a computer development project have been referred to the prosecution.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 4th that at the end of last month, they referred a total of seven people to the prosecution with charges, including three NHIS employees and four employees of the external computer development company A, on suspicion of bribery and bribery offering. One NHIS employee who received a large amount of money was detained.
The NHIS is accused of committing misconduct by receiving several hundred million won in bribes from company A in exchange for favoring the company during the commissioning of an internal computer project worth approximately 13 billion won in March 2017.
