Pohang City Signs 'Eye Guardian' Agreement... Provides Glasses to 100 Children at Local Child Centers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 2nd that it signed a business agreement at City Hall for the 'eye Keeper Support Project' to protect the eyesight of children from vulnerable groups.
The organizations and businesses participating in this agreement include 'Let's All See Together Eye Keeper' (Chairman Lee Jun-eok), three optician shops (Ogori Eye Care, Mundeok Optical Sketch, Ocheon Seomun Eye Click), and the Pohang City Regional Children's Center Association.
Pohang City will first receive recommendations for 100 children using regional children's centers who need vision care, and the participating optician shops will provide customized glasses through vision tests and continuously manage the children's eyesight through regular check-ups.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, "It is unfortunate that children, who have difficulty going outside due to COVID-19, are exposed to smart devices for long hours," and added, "We expect this business agreement to be of great help to vulnerable children who need vision care."

Meanwhile, 'Let's All See Together Eye Keeper' is a volunteer organization that provides customized glasses by conducting vision tests every six months for children with poor eyesight, and is actively seeking sponsors and participating optician shops to expand the number of beneficiaries.
