Completion of Incheon Yeongjong Area Public Bus Garage... Number of Routes Used Increases from 7 to 9
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] With the establishment of a new public bus garage in Yeongjongdo, where Incheon International Airport is located, the number of bus routes available to local residents has increased.
Incheon City announced on the 2nd that it has completed the Yeongjong Area public bus garage in Unbuk-dong, Jung-gu, capable of parking 80 city buses simultaneously, and began operations this month.
The public garage was created to improve service quality and working conditions for transportation workers in response to the rapidly increasing public transportation demand in Yeongjongdo.
With a total project cost of 17.4 billion KRW, the facility includes a management building, maintenance building, car wash facilities, and a compressed natural gas (CNG) charging station on a site of approximately 12,000 square meters.
With the establishment of the public garage, the number of bus routes operating in Yeongjongdo increased from seven to nine, and the dispatch intervals have also been reduced.

Incheon City currently operates public bus garages in four locations?Jangsu, Songdo, Seochang, and Cheongna?under the government's metropolitan area wide transportation plan, and plans to additionally establish garages in the Gyeyang area and Geomdan Industrial Complex in the future.
