Opening of the Government Chungnam Regional Joint Office on the 3rd ... Expected Improvement in Administrative Efficiency
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 2nd that it will hold an opening ceremony at 2:30 PM on the 3rd at the Government Chungnam Regional Joint Office located in Naepo New City, Chungcheongnam-do. Cho So-yeon, Director of the Government Office Management Headquarters, and heads of tenant agencies will attend to celebrate the successful completion and opening of the building.
Since 2000, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been carrying out the Government Regional Joint Office project to consolidate national agency offices scattered across regions in order to enhance public administrative services and increase the utilization of state-owned properties.
The Government Chungnam Regional Joint Office is the eighth government regional joint office to open, housing five agencies: the Chungcheongnam-do Election Commission, Hongseong County Election Commission, Chungcheong Regional Statistics Office Hongseong Branch, Daejeon Probation Office Hongseong Branch, and Daejeon Office Management Office Chungnam Branch.
The new office was established on a site of 10,000㎡ with a total floor area of 8,366㎡ (from one basement floor to five above-ground floors) after approximately one and a half years of construction. It has received certifications such as the 'Green Building Excellence Grade' and 'Barrier-Free (BF) Excellence Grade.' Additionally, to reduce carbon emissions, it is equipped with a geothermal system, solar power facilities, LED lighting fixtures, and rainwater and wastewater recycling facilities.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety expressed expectations that "with the opening of the office, together with the adjacent Chungnam Provincial Office, Chungnam Office of Education, and Chungnam Provincial Police Agency, the administrative town of Naepo New City will be more complete, and through mutual cooperation among agencies, more advanced public administrative services will be provided."
