Opening of 'Our Neighborhood Care Center' in Sindorim-dong and Gocheok 2-dong, Guro-gu
Last Month, Local 8th and 9th Centers Opened Consecutively to Address Elementary After-School Care Gaps... Providing Universal Care Regardless of Income Level... Emergency Care Also Implemented in Response to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) has opened two Our Neighborhood Care Centers.
Guro-gu announced on the 2nd, "To alleviate the childcare burden for dual-income families, we have established Our Neighborhood Care Centers in Sindorim-dong and Gocheok 2-dong."
Our Neighborhood Care Centers are an after-school care program for elementary students conducted in cooperation between Seoul City and autonomous districts. They provide universal and regular care services regardless of parents' income levels.
In Guro-gu, seven Our Neighborhood Care Centers have been operating in Guro 1, 2, 3, and 5-dong, Gocheok 1-dong, Gaebong 3-dong, and Cheonwang-dong.
The newly opened Sindorim-dong Care Center is located on the 4th floor of Haedong Building, 20 Sindorim-ro, with an area of 181㎡. It began operations on the 12th of last month.
The Gocheok 2-dong Care Center, with a total area of 154㎡, is situated on the 2nd floor at 80 Jungang-ro 15-gil. It opened on the 1st of last month.
The centers provide basic care activities such as helping with homework and sending children to academies, as well as various programs including reading, art, and physical education.
Operating hours are from 1 PM to 8 PM during the school term, and from 9 AM to 6 PM during vacations. Emergency care is also provided to address care gaps caused by COVID-19.

Residents wishing to use the service can apply through the Our Neighborhood Care Portal website.
A Guro-gu official stated, "We plan to open four more Our Neighborhood Care Centers within this year," adding, "We will do our best to create an environment where children can grow up healthily."
