The county’s submitted outstanding case of creating a smoke-free environment, ‘Let’s Create Together! Smoke-Free Ecological City Damyang,’ received uniformly high scores across all evaluation categories such as effectiveness of project implementation, sustainability, and applicability, leading to its selection as an excellent institution.
First, to strengthen communication and participation with local community residents, the county formed a smoking cessation supporters group linked with local walking clubs to promote the harms of smoking and the importance of quitting smoking.
Additionally, a cooperative system was established with the Jeonnam Smoking Cessation Support Center, Seegene Medical Foundation, and others to create a multifaceted smoke-free environment foundation.
