Jeong Cheong-rae: "Yoon Seok-yeol Entered Politics on His Own... Seems Like the Boss of Yoon Seobangpa"

On the 27th, Jeong said on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory,' "Prosecutor General Yoon is neither on the ruling party's side nor the opposition's side; he is simply on the prosecution's side. He is a prosecutionist."
In response to Ha Tae-kyung of the People Power Party's question that "Minister Choo Mi-ae is dragging this into politics," Jeong replied, "He jumped in himself," adding, "Minister Choo does not have the power to drag him in. Even if she tries later, it would be appropriate to say at the National Assembly audit, 'I will never engage in politics.' But if he does not deny it and says, 'I am thinking about serving,' that is a political declaration."
He continued, "The most infuriating point is when he says, 'The president did not officially but through a secret messenger told me to work hard during my term,' and 'The president's exercise of investigative control was inevitable but illegal.' I think this is a backlash against the president."
He added, "The Minister of Justice's investigative control was only directed at the Prosecutor General. If it were about individual cases, saying 'Do this' or 'Do that' would be a violation, but it was only directed at the Prosecutor General, and the Prosecutor General accepted it," and said, "But now, at the National Assembly audit, he is grumbling cowardly behind the scenes."
Earlier, on the 22nd, at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office National Assembly audit, Prosecutor General Yoon, when asked about his intention to enter politics, replied, "After retirement, I will slowly think about how to serve our society and the people."
When asked about being mentioned as a candidate in presidential opinion polls, Yoon said, "Right now, I have no time to think about anything else other than fulfilling my duties."
However, when asked if he intended to go into politics, he evaded by saying, "That is difficult for me to say."
Minister Choo criticized Prosecutor General Yoon's remarks as "inappropriate."

On the 26th, at the National Assembly Judiciary Committee's comprehensive audit, Minister Choo pointed out, "As the head who should lead the prosecution neutrally, even if he intends to go into politics tomorrow, at least here he should have said, 'I have no intention of engaging in politics at all.'"
