[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 27th that it will hold the 3rd "Accounting Day" commemorative ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 30th at the Four Seasons Hotel Nuri Ballroom.
This year's ceremony will be scaled down to prevent the spread of COVID-19, limiting attendees to fewer than 50 people, including Yoon Kwan-seok, Chairman of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee, Eun Sung-soo, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, other political and business figures, representatives of recipients of industrial medals and government awards, and accounting professionals. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live online via the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants' YouTube channel.

Starting next year, the Accounting Day commemorative ceremony will be held as a government-led event. In April, the National Assembly passed an amendment to the External Audit Act designating October 31 as "Accounting Day" as a legal commemorative day. Through the ceremony, the government plans to widely promote the value and importance of accounting transparency to the public and encourage the activities of professionals in the accounting field.
