Operation of 'Super-Focused Self-Directed Learning Online Special Lecture' in Dongdaemun-gu
Providing Learning Solutions to Enhance Self-Directed Learning Skills in Non-Face-to-Face Classes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Recently, as the proportion of students attending remote classes alone at home has increased, the importance of self-directed learning ability has grown.
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) will operate the "Super Concentrated Self-Directed Learning Online Special Lecture" from the 26th to help students develop self-directed learning skills and efficiently fill learning gaps on their own.
The existing "Super Concentrated Self-Directed Learning" was provided as an educational service visiting schools, but this time it will be offered online due to COVID-19.
In this special lecture, students who have been attending remote classes at home for a long time will be taught ▲self-directed learning motivation ▲concentration and memorization ▲time management ▲learning habits ▲metacognition ▲subject-specific learning strategies (4 sessions for elementary, 4 sessions for middle school), among others, to enable efficient learning.
This special lecture will be provided not only to schools that applied in advance but also freely accessible to parents and students in the area through the YouTube channel (DBS Dongdaemun-gu Office Internet Broadcasting) and the Dongdaemun-gu Education Vision Center website starting from the 26th.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “In preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, we will continuously support parents, students, and schools by producing various online smart education contents to minimize learning gaps.”
The Dongdaemun-gu Vision Center has expanded its existing educational support programs into fully non-face-to-face online programs, continuously providing programs without learning gaps.
Recently, it has received great responses by operating parent special lectures such as “Future Education in the 4th Industrial Revolution Era,” psychological quarantine services to overcome COVID blues like “Online Art Therapy for Parents and Children Together,” and school-visiting “Online Career and Learning Method Special Lectures.”
The center offers free career learning counseling consulting for local students from 4th grade elementary to middle and high school students, and non-face-to-face online career learning counseling is also available.
