Mu-hyup Hosts 'Korea-UAE Healthcare Week'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held the 'Korea-UAE Healthcare Week' event on the 26th in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Gangnam-gu, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
This event aimed to promote excellent K-quarantine cases, which have gained increased attention due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to support Korean companies' entry into the Middle East healthcare market. A webinar was held on the 26th, followed by an online consultation meeting on the 27th.
Yang Oh-seung, Director of the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center and a speaker at the webinar, stated, "With Korea's excellent medical infrastructure and K-quarantine know-how, we will gradually expand healthcare cooperation with the UAE."
Nail Clark, Director of the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, said, "The COVID-19 crisis has increased the importance of healthcare cooperation between the two countries," adding, "Abu Dhabi will actively welcome investments and market entry by Korea's outstanding healthcare companies."

At the consultation meeting held the following day, 50 domestic companies in fields such as COVID-19 diagnostic kits, masks, protective gloves, medical equipment, and medical devices participated. They conducted over 100 export consultations via video with 20 pre-matched buyers from the UAE and the Middle East region. Major buyers included Lulu Group, the largest supermarket chain operator in the Middle East; Al Mazroui Medical Group, a leading healthcare company in the UAE; and Enaya Home Nursing Services, a UAE comprehensive hospital operator.
