'25th Anniversary of Reestablishment of Diplomatic Relations' Korea-Laos Foreign Ministers Exchange Congratulatory Messages
Minister Kang Kyung-wha "Meaningful Exception for Essential Workers' Entry... Seeking COVID-19 Cooperation Measures"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Kang Kyung-wha, Minister of Foreign Affairs, exchanged congratulatory messages with Saleumsay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Laos.
In her congratulatory message, Minister Kang evaluated that since the reestablishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, bilateral relations have developed remarkably in various fields, and especially through two summit meetings last year, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries has become even stronger.
Furthermore, Minister Kang expressed her appreciation for the close cooperation between the two countries in quarantine and exceptions for essential personnel entry despite the new challenge of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and stated that they will continue to seek cooperative measures to respond to COVID-19 together.

In response, Minister Saleumsay also conveyed congratulations on the 25th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Laos, saying, "I am very pleased that the friendly and cooperative relationship, especially between the foreign ministries of both sides, has continuously strengthened over the past 25 years," and added, "I look forward to continuing close cooperation with Minister Kang to further strengthen bilateral relations for mutual benefit as well as for the common prosperity and peace of the world."
