Gwangyang City Council Appoints Advisory Committee Members for the Second Half of the 8th Term
Election of the Chairman of the Legislative Advisory Committee and Meeting with Legislative Advisory Committee Members
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang City Council (Chairman Jin Su-hwa) appointed advisory committee members for the second half of the 8th Gwangyang City Council yesterday.
The advisory committee consists of 26 local figures active in various fields such as small business owners, housewives, university professors, and labor activists, and will serve for two years.
Regular meetings of the advisory committee are held twice a year, with extraordinary meetings convened as needed.
The role of the advisory committee members is to provide advice on council activities, including regional development, resident welfare, and proposals for progressive policies.
After the appointment ceremony, an internal meeting of the advisory committee elected Na Jong-nyeon as chairman and Lee An-hwi as vice chairman.

Chairman Jin Su-hwa said at the meeting, “The very act of having advisory committee members and councilors share opinions on various local issues and seek solutions is itself a part of council activities,” and urged “the advisory committee members to offer many valuable insights and actively participate.”
