On the 19th (local time), Rolling Stone published an editorial titled "Supporting Joe Biden as President of the United States," stating, "Candidate Biden is a figure who will lead the country as a president who respects American democracy and the principles of checks and balances, not as a dictator."
It also evaluated, "Unlike President Trump, he has clearly demonstrated competence, passion, integrity, and self-control."
Furthermore, it described this year's election as a golden opportunity for the U.S. to overcome the remnants of racism, dictatorship, and ignorance left by President Trump and to recover.
Regarding President Trump, it emphasized, "We have spent four years under a leader unfit for the presidency," and added, "It is truly fortunate for the U.S. that there is Biden, who is the complete opposite of him in every way."
Four years ago, Rolling Stone supported former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.
Rolling Stone's founder, Jann Wenner, declared support for former Secretary Clinton instead of Senator Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary at that time.
