[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte Group, who made an early personnel reshuffle in August and headed to Japan, has returned after about two months.
According to Lotte Holdings on the 20th, Chairman Shin returned from Japan last weekend and resumed his duties. Previously, Chairman Shin departed for Japan on August 13. He went to work that day and personally presided over the weekly business report held in the afternoon. Starting this week, Chairman Shin is expected to meet with executives to review pressing issues. After the unusual early personnel reshuffle in August, he will oversee the ongoing issues of each affiliate and receive reports on next year's business plans.
After reviewing the status of each affiliate, Chairman Shin is likely to prepare for the year-end personnel reshuffle immediately. Typically, the year-end reshuffle is conducted around the end of December, effective January 1, but Lotte senior officials expect it to be about a month earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Chairman Shin managed Lotte Holdings' business plans in Japan and finalized the inheritance procedures of the late Honorary Chairman Shin Kyuk-ho's Japanese assets. On the 11th, Chairman Shin met with Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide. Although the details of their conversation were not disclosed, it is understood that discussions related to tourism promotion, which Prime Minister Suga emphasized, took place.
