Gwangju Seo-gu Operates Untact 'Banggu-seok Pilates' Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 19th that it will operate a non-face-to-face exercise program called 'Bangguseok Pilates.'
This program was prepared to alleviate the emotional isolation of citizens and promote health due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The program is conducted by professional Pilates instructors and is designed to combine aerobic and strength exercises without boredom, enabling participants to practice a healthy lifestyle through indoor exercise.
In particular, during a time when face-to-face education is difficult due to COVID-19, the program is promoted through real-time online communication, receiving positive responses from residents.
It will be operated twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of next month, and 16 participants were provided with four types of exercise equipment necessary for the program (yoga mat, mini gym ball, yoga circle, and latex band).
An official from Seo-gu Public Health Center said, “We prepared an online program to promote the health of local residents during this very difficult time physically and mentally due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “We hope that residents can revitalize their tired lives through enjoyable exercise activities while communicating together.”
