In his handwritten statement from prison on the same day, former Chairman Kim claimed, "Regarding the lobbying of the Woori Bank president related to the request to resume Lime fund sales, I paid several hundred million won to a prominent opposition politician who is a former chief prosecutor and to a lawyer, and then actually lobbied former Lime Vice President Lee Jong-pil, as well as the Woori Bank president and vice president."
