Gyeongnam Province Provides Food Packages to Vulnerable Groups in Need
Do Volunteer Center, IBK-Sponsored Meal Truck Operation Shifted to Grocery Package Delivery Due to COVID Impact
Providing Meals to 1,300 Vulnerable Neighbors Exhausted by COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center announced on the 16th that it will produce and deliver food packages (kits) to support vulnerable groups who have become desperate for a meal due to the suspension of free meal services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This initiative was planned as the ‘IBK Truly! Good Love Meal Truck,’ sponsored by IBK, also faced operational difficulties due to the COVID-19 situation, prompting a shift to producing and delivering food packages to support the increasingly struggling vulnerable groups.
The food packages are composed in quantities sufficient for three meals, including instant rice, and will be distributed over two weeks starting from the 15th in Changnyeong-gun. Volunteers from nine regional volunteer centers will personally prepare the packages and deliver them to a total of 1,300 people (worth approximately 20 million KRW).
The ‘IBK Truly! Good Love Meal Truck’ is a social contribution project sponsored by IBK Industrial Bank. It collaborates with various institutions within the province to create a communication platform among local volunteers, providing warm meals along with various cultural activities and experiential events, engaging with local residents.
