View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Jeong-yuk, Secretary General of the Liberation Association, criticized Assemblywoman Kwon Eun-hee of the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee on the 16th for disparaging the independence movement activities of Kim Won-woong, President of the Liberation Association's parents (Kim Geun-soo and Jeon Wol-seon, former independence activists) as ‘fiction’ and claiming they were selected as independence patriots based on a ‘historical distortion controversy book’ during the standing committee session the previous day.
In a statement released that day, Secretary General Kim said, "This is an act of insulting independence activists who risked their lives fighting against Japanese imperialism, including surrendering to Japanese troops, being shot, arrested, and escaping." He added, "Despite the overwhelming and clear evidence such as testimonies from Liberation Army comrades, records from the Provisional Government, group photos taken wearing independence army uniforms, Chinese government documents, and intelligence materials from the Japanese Foreign Affairs Section, Assemblywoman Kwon Eun-hee ignores these and hides behind parliamentary immunity to tell lies. Liberation Association members cannot contain their anger at her despicable behavior."
