Choe Kang-wook, Leader of the Open Democratic Party, Indicted for False Information Disclosure
Choi Kang-wook, the leader of the Open Democratic Party, was indicted on charges of spreading false information during the last general election. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Public Investigation Division 2 announced on the 15th that Choi was indicted without detention on charges of false information disclosure under the Public Official Election Act.
Choi is accused of falsely declaring that the allegation of issuing a false certificate of internship activity for former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk's son during the general election period was not true.

Choi was previously indicted without detention in January on charges of issuing a false certificate of internship activity for former Minister Cho's son in 2017 while working as a lawyer at the law firm Cheongmaek, thereby obstructing graduate school admissions along with former Minister Cho. In response, during the election period, Choi claimed that "the certificate was issued because former Minister Cho's son actually completed the internship," and accused the prosecution of abusing its authority.
