Prosecution Indicts Kang Yong-seok on Charges of Spreading False Information Related to Former Blue House Spokesperson Park Soo-hyun
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Lawyer Kang Yong-seok has been brought to trial on charges of disseminating false information related to former Blue House spokesperson Park Soo-hyun, who ran for the National Assembly in the April 15 general election.
According to the prosecution on the 15th, the Public Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kwon Sang-dae) indicted Lawyer Kang without detention yesterday on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act (dissemination of false information).
Lawyer Kang is accused of spreading false information on his YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute,’ claiming that former spokesperson Park resigned due to a women's issue.
Former spokesperson Park ran for the April 15 general election in Chungnam Gongju·Buyeo·Cheongyang but lost to Jeong Jin-seok, the candidate of the United Future Party (now People Power Party).
