View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam, announced on the 15th that he conducted an on-site inspection of the construction of the parking lot at the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and a general inspection of the facilities.
This Comprehensive Social Welfare Center parking lot construction project has been promoted since 2018 to alleviate the inconvenience of users and help resolve parking difficulties for local residents in the surrounding area.
Geochang-gun secured additional budget for the surrounding maintenance project and the establishment of an unmanned parking system through consultation with the county council, and is scheduled to complete the project by the end of October.
The construction of the disaster relief warehouse and the recycling sales center is also scheduled to be completed by the end of December, which is expected to give the welfare center a renewed appearance for the first time in about 30 years.
Gu In-mo, mayor of Geochang-gun, requested, “As the welfare center parking lot construction project is in its final stages, please do your best to promote the final phase of the project so that on weekdays it can provide convenience to users, and on Saturdays and holidays it can be used as parking space for nearby stores and local residents.”

Meanwhile, the Geochang-gun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center was built in 1992, and due to aging facilities, cracks have appeared and there are roof leaks. In 2021, waterproofing and painting work on the roof was planned to ensure that local residents can use the center conveniently and safely.
