Jeong Chunsuk "Full audit needed for Bundang Seoul National University Hospital previously outsourced"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jung] It has been revealed that the head of the operations team at the Central Dementia Center, which is operated under consignment by the National Medical Center, embezzled 470 million KRW from July 2014 to June of this year.
On the 15th, at the National Medical Center's audit by the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, Jeong Chun-sook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "The head of the Central Dementia Center's operations team embezzled 470 million KRW over seven years, and I have doubts about whether he acted alone," adding, "The team leader expressed his intention to retire after the Central Dementia Center was transferred to the National Medical Center and went on parental leave starting August this year. A thorough audit of the entire Central Dementia Center organization, including Bundang Seoul National University Hospital which previously operated it under consignment, is necessary."
The National Medical Center conducted an internal audit of the Central Dementia Center, detected signs of embezzlement amounting to 470 million KRW, and filed a complaint with the police against the person involved.
