Court Again Denies Jeon Gwang-hoon's Bail Request
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon requested bail again, but the court did not accept it.
According to the legal community on the 14th, the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 34 (Chief Judge Heo Seon-ah) dismissed the bail request filed by Pastor Jeon on the same day.
Earlier, Pastor Jeon was released on bail in April this year under conditions including a deposit of 50 million won, but after leading the Gwanghwamun rally on Liberation Day and violating the conditions, his bail was revoked on the 7th of last month. Pastor Jeon, who was re-arrested, applied for bail on the 10th of last month, which was dismissed, and again requested bail on the 7th of this month.

Meanwhile, the court also dismissed the prosecution's request to additionally confiscate 20 million won of Pastor Jeon's bail deposit separately. The court stated, "Out of the total 50 million won deposit, 30 million won has already been confiscated," and judged that "considering all circumstances, there is no need to additionally confiscate the deposit."
