KOSPI and KOSDAQ Continue Slight Decline into the Afternoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices continue to show slight declines into the afternoon session.
On the 14th, the KOSPI opened higher but soon turned downward, fluctuating around the 2390 level. As of 1:10 PM, it is trading at 2394.02, down 9.13 points (0.38%) from the previous trading day.
By trading participants, institutions and foreign investors are leading the index decline with net sales of 195.2 billion KRW and 71.8 billion KRW respectively. In contrast, individual investors are net buyers by billions of KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, most are declining. SK Telecom, Celltrion, LG Chem, and Samsung Biologics are showing relatively larger drops.
The KOSDAQ index is showing a similar trend. It also started higher but showed mixed movements early in the session and has maintained a decline of around 0.5% since about 9:30 AM. As of 1:10 PM, it is at 868.01, down 3.91 points (0.45%) from the previous trading day.
By trading participants, similar to the KOSPI, institutions and foreign investors are net sellers with 142.8 billion KRW and 31.5 billion KRW respectively. However, individual investors are net sellers by 193.4 billion KRW.
