[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae has been reported to the prosecution on charges of making false statements regarding the allegations of 'special leave' for her son Seo Mo during the National Assembly audit.
The Action Alliance for Establishing the Rule of Law (Beopse-ryeon) announced on the 14th that it will file a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office against Minister Choo for perjury under the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act and obstruction of official duties by deception.
Beopse-ryeon stated, "According to the investigation results announced by the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office, there is clear evidence that Minister Choo instructed her aide to make a phone call and was involved in Seo's special leave," adding, "Minister Choo's false testimony constitutes perjury in violation of the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act and obstructed the duties of the National Assembly members during the audit through deception."
