Chungnam Reissues Administrative Order for 'Mandatory Mask Wearing'
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province has reissued an administrative order mandating mask-wearing at facilities within the region.
The province announced on the 14th that it has reissued the mask-wearing administrative order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The administrative order will be maintained until further notice after a guidance period until the 12th of next month. Accordingly, all residents and visitors throughout Chungnam must wear masks at all times in facilities subject to the administrative order, including buses, subways, taxis, assembly and protest sites, medical institutions, nursing facilities, and day and night care centers.
The mask-wearing obligation also applies at all times in 12 types of high-risk facilities such as entertainment bars, karaoke rooms, and buffets, as well as in 13 types of multi-use facilities including general restaurants, performance venues, religious facilities, and indoor sports facilities when a gathering restriction administrative order is issued.
However, mask-wearing is recommended in other indoor facilities and outdoor areas where many people gather.
Masks can be health masks, droplet-blocking masks, surgical masks, disposable masks, or cloth masks, but mesh-type masks, valve-type masks, or covering with scarves or other clothing are not allowed.
