"SKT Launches Solution to Analyze Cloud Usage and Notify Abnormal Costs and Causes"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 13th that it has launched an 'AI-based Cloud Anomalous Cost Detection Solution' in collaboration with Bespin Global.
This solution analyzes cloud usage and costs to notify operators in real time of any anomalous cost occurrences and their causes, helping them easily find solutions.
As a result, companies paying hundreds of millions to billions of won annually for cloud usage fees are expected to be able to use cloud services more efficiently by reducing unnecessary costs through accurate cost analysis. According to the company, verification tests recorded over 90% accuracy in detecting anomalous costs and determining their causes.
The solution is available through Bespin Global's cloud integrated management platform, 'OpsNow.' It will be immediately applied as a global service to over 300 paid OpsNow customers in the US, China, Japan, Korea, and other countries.
In November, an AI-based billing error detection solution will also be added. It will analyze monthly cloud usage details and patterns to identify changes in bills and their causes, as well as easily manage refunds for overcharged fees from cloud providers.
Along with this, SK Telecom plans to complete the development of the 'Next-Generation Cloud Management Platform (CMP)' within this year in collaboration with SK Inc. C&C, SK Infosec, and Bespin Global. The next-generation CMP is a future-oriented cloud platform that goes beyond multi- and hybrid-cloud integrated management to provide integrated management and AI-based cost management encompassing mobile edge computing (MEC) combining telecommunications and cloud, cloud networks, and cloud security services.
Lee Kang-won, head of SK Telecom 5GX Cloud Labs, said, “Through the development of the industry's first cloud anomalous cost detection solution, SK Telecom has strengthened the product competitiveness of the next-generation cloud management platform we are ambitiously preparing,” adding, “We will continue technological development to become an integrated cloud provider offering comprehensive services from telecommunications to cloud networks and security services.”
