[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House will hold an emergency National Security Council (NSC) meeting to discuss the unveiling of North Korea's new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at the military parade.
Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated on the 11th, "We will hold an emergency NSC standing committee meeting this morning regarding the military parade commemorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea."

View original imageEarlier, on the 10th, North Korea unveiled a new ICBM capable of targeting the U.S. mainland during the military parade celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. The new ICBM appeared as the final segment of the parade, mounted on an 11-axle, 22-wheel transporter erector launcher (TEL).
The new ICBM is assessed to have enhanced capabilities to strike the U.S. mainland, with increased length and diameter. It is characterized by an upgraded warhead capable of carrying multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs).

The NSC standing committee is also expected to discuss the message from Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea. At the parade, Kim expressed, "I sincerely send this warm heart to our beloved compatriots in the South and hope that this health crisis will be overcome soon and that the day will come when the North and South hold hands again."
