On the 11th (Korean time), at the Summerlin TPC in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (Par 71, 7,243 yards), Kim surged with an 8-under-par on the third day of the PGA Tour Shriners Children's Open (total prize money $7 million), leaping to a tie for 9th place (16-under 197). Patrick Cantlay (USA) and Martin Laird (Scotland) share the lead (20-under 193), while 'Twist Swing' Matthew Wolff (USA) is chasing from a tie for 3rd place, two strokes behind (18-under 195).
Kim Si-woo collected eight birdies. Starting with a birdie on the first hole (par 4), he followed with consecutive birdies on holes 6 and 7, and a '2-on 2-putt' birdie on the 9th hole (par 5), gaining momentum. In the back nine, he added two pairs of consecutive birdies on holes 12-13 and 14-15. He repeatedly demonstrated power, including a tee shot up to 350 yards on the 4th hole (par 4), and his 'computer iron shots' stood out, missing the green only twice. He is four strokes behind the leader, in a position to contend for the win on the final day.
Locally, Wolff's 10-under round made headlines. He hit three eagles on holes 11, 13, and 15, drawing even more spotlight. On the 11th hole (par 4), he eagled with a 116-yard shot; on the 13th hole (par 5), he eagled with a '2-on 1-putt'; and on the 15th hole (par 4), after successfully reaching the green in one shot, he sank a 4.5-meter eagle putt. Wolff is a special rookie who turned pro in June last year and immediately won his first PGA Tour title at the 3M Open in July. His unique swing, which involves twisting his left leg just before the swing, has become a hot topic.

Im Sung-jae (22, CJ Logistics) posted a 2-under round to stand tied for 19th place (14-under 199). He made one eagle and four birdies but was held back by two bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th hole (par 4). It is surprising that 'Hulk' Bryson DeChambeau (USA) remained at even par and dropped to a tie for 31st place (13-under 200). His iron shots faltered, causing setbacks. Kang Sung-hoon (33, CJ Logistics) finished tied for 40th place (12-under 201).
