[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Regarding the fire at a residential-commercial complex apartment in Ulsan, the People Power Party raised their voices, mentioning residents' reports that the emergency bell and announcement broadcasts did not go off in time, stating that "a thorough investigation of the cause and measures to prevent recurrence are necessary."
On the 9th, Bae Jun-young, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a verbal statement, "We hope for swift fire suppression and rescue operations to prevent additional damage, and we ask that attention be paid to the safety of firefighters."
Spokesperson Bae said, "According to residents' claims, the emergency bell and announcement broadcasts did not go off in time during the incident," adding, "At this point, thorough investigation of the cause must be conducted to ensure that such accidents do not recur, and all efforts should be made to prepare countermeasures."
According to the Ulsan Fire Headquarters, at 11:14 p.m. on the 8th, a fire broke out at a residential-commercial complex apartment in Daldong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, causing hundreds of residents to evacuate in chaos. Forty-nine people were transported to hospitals due to smoke inhalation, and 53 were rescued. No fatalities have been confirmed yet.
