View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A, the first operator of the website 'Digital Prison' who was forcibly repatriated from Vietnam to Korea for unauthorized disclosure of personal information of sex offenders, has been arrested.
On the 8th, Judge Kang Kyung-ho, in charge of warrants at Daegu District Court, conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant substantive examination) for A and issued an arrest warrant, citing "risk of evidence destruction and flight."
A is suspected of unauthorized posting of personal information and court sentencing results related to suspects and persons involved in digital sex crimes, murder, child abuse, and other cases through the Digital Prison website and Instagram account since March this year. Charges include violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation), Personal Information Protection Act, and Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse.
A was forcibly repatriated from Vietnam to Korea on the 6th and was transferred to the Daegu Police Agency, which is investigating the case. Since May, the police have been investigating Digital Prison and arrested A in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the 22nd of last month through Interpol and international cooperation investigations.
