Kim Jong-in: "President Moon's Response to the Letter from the Son of the North Korean-Killed Official... A Soulless Reply"
“The President Who Said 'People First'... Where Did He Go?”
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, commented on June 8 regarding the letter sent by the son of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official who was killed by North Korean gunfire to President Moon Jae-in. He said, “I found it difficult to read the letter, which conveyed the child's fear and anxiety, all the way through,” and added, “I doubt whether President Moon has properly read this letter.”
At the Emergency Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kim said, “Where has the president gone, who said 'people first' and promised to embrace the pain of the people?” and “I felt as if he was hiding behind the spokesperson and only giving soulless responses.”
Chairman Kim pointed out, “Not only the bereaved families but also the public are angered by the insincere attitude,” and said, “It would have been better not to respond at all than to hurt the child's feelings.”

He further stated, “President Moon should personally come forward to clarify the truth, apologize to the people, and firmly hold North Korea accountable,” and warned, “It is a grave mistake to think that this will be forgotten over time. The people are waiting for the president’s answer regarding the reason for the existence of the state.”
