Netmarble's Anticipated Title 'Seven Knights 2' Launching in November... Pre-Registration Begins
The Charm of 'Real-Time Group Battles' with 4-Character Combinations
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Netmarble's highly anticipated mobile game for the second half of the year, 'Seven Knights 2,' will be released in November.
Netmarble announced on the 8th that it has revealed the release schedule for its new mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Seven Knights 2, and has begun pre-registration.
Netmarble's flagship intellectual property (IP), 'Seven Knights,' is a mobile role-playing game (RPG) launched in March 2014, which has recorded 60 million cumulative global downloads. It has 46.97 million users worldwide, expanded to 137 countries, and ranked in the top 10 in sales in 29 countries. In South Korea, it has secured over 10 million users.
Seven Knights 2 is developed based on the world view set 20 years after the original Seven Knights. It features high-quality realistic characters and introduces the first real-time group battles in a mobile game. The game enhances the fun of the original, which was known for its solid story and strategic use of characters. The Seven Knights 2 development team stated, "Our goal was to create a game that both original users and those unfamiliar with the original can relate to."
In addition to characters from the original game, original characters exclusive to Seven Knights 2 also appear. Unlike the cute character style of the original, Seven Knights 2 characters are created in a realistic style using the Unreal Engine 4.
In particular, the 'real-time group battle,' where players control a combination of four characters, is a core element of Seven Knights 2. Ji-hoon Han, head of Netmarble's business division, explained, "Each of the four characters has a distinct role. The characters are divided into five job classes, and depending on how you compose your team, you can enjoy various strategies and combinations."
The Seven Knights 2 development team traveled all the way to the Czech Republic to conduct motion capture work for realistic action. In-hyuk Song, art director at Netmarble Nexus, said, "We went to the Czech Republic after searching for a company with extensive know-how in creating realistic action. Through motion capture, the production of various character performances was completed."
