"Anyone Can Participate in the National Audit" Kim Min-seok, Welfare Committee Chair's Kakao Channel Experiment
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Kim Min-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea and chairman of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, announced on the 7th that he has created a channel using a messenger program to allow ordinary citizens to participate in the National Assembly inspection.
The citizen participation-type inspection platform established by Representative Kim is available on Kakao Channel under the brand name "GukgamTalk!" Anyone can easily propose opinions through keyword-based automated conversations. It is characterized by allowing users to easily search for and access general information about the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee and inspection legislative activities as if chatting. The representative's office stated, "Due to COVID-19, the National Assembly inspection is also being conducted non-face-to-face," adding, "Chairman Kim is the first to build an inspection service using smart keyword chat functionality."
This service is available to anyone who uses KakaoTalk and can participate by searching for "GukgamTalk." Kim was elected chairman of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee on the 24th of last month.
