EcoPro Group Donates Scholarships to Foster Talent in Secondary Battery Industry
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A company manufacturing secondary batteries has generously donated a scholarship of 10 million KRW for graduate students majoring in 'battery'.
This is to support researchers who will grow into leaders in the next-generation secondary battery field.
Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) received a development fund of 10 million KRW from EcoPro Group on the 7th as the 'EcoPro Scholarship'.
EcoPro Group is a company that manufactures and sells secondary battery materials and donated the development fund to support research in the secondary battery field.
The donated development fund will be established as the 'EcoPro Scholarship' and will be awarded to students majoring in battery science and technology in the Department of Energy and Chemical Engineering at UNIST.
UNIST plans to select two graduate students researching in the secondary battery field and provide each with an annual scholarship of 5 million KRW.
The selection will be conducted by evaluating the qualitative level, creativity, and challenge of the research content. EcoPro Group is also considering continuing to provide scholarships after this donation.
Lee Dong-chae, Chairman of EcoPro Group, said, “UNIST is a school producing excellent research outcomes that can lead the next-generation battery industry,” and added, “I hope this development fund delivery will become a valuable seed for nurturing talent in the battery field that will change the future.”
