[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electronics will launch the customized compact refrigerator ‘Samsung BESPOKE Cube’ at the end of this month, which can professionally store wine, beer, cosmetics, and more according to personal preferences.
On the 7th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will conduct funding for the Samsung BESPOKE Cube through ‘Wadiz,’ the largest crowdfunding platform in Korea, and then release the product at the end of this month. The company explained that by applying the BESPOKE concept to the launch method as well, they intend to create the product together with consumers, so the funding will be conducted on Wadiz from the 15th to the 22nd, ahead of the official release date.
The Samsung BESPOKE Cube allows temperature settings optimized for storing items such as wine and cosmetics, ranging from 5 to 18℃. Additionally, by applying Samsung refrigerator’s unique ‘Micro Precise Cooling Technology’ and a double glass door that blocks ultraviolet rays, the internal temperature variance is maintained within ±0.3℃, enabling optimal storage conditions without spoilage.
The Samsung BESPOKE Cube also features various convenient customized storage solutions. For Wine & Beer, the top section includes a sliding shelf suitable for storing bottles, and the bottom section is equipped with a ‘Wine Presenter’ section that tilts to better display preferred wines. For Beauty & Health, a sliding drawer is placed at the front for easy access to daily cosmetics, and a ‘Dual Case’ is provided to separately store packs or small cosmetics. The Multi option includes both wine and beauty storage solutions, allowing consumers to use it freely according to their needs.
Samsung Electronics’ BESPOKE Cube can be used in conjunction with the ‘SmartThings’ app. It offers features such as ▲suggesting optimal temperatures according to the type of wine, beer, or cosmetics ▲remotely monitoring the product or controlling the temperature ▲sending alerts if the door is open or abnormal temperature changes are detected. Additionally, it supports wine storage-specialized services such as ▲‘In Cellar,’ which allows users to check the current wine list being stored ▲and ‘History,’ which records detailed information and manages the history of wines.
The colors available are five options: White, Charcoal, Pink, Fern Green, and Sky Blue, allowing consumers to choose according to their preferences and interior characteristics. The retail price of the Samsung BESPOKE Cube ranges from 599,000 KRW to 649,000 KRW depending on the storage solution.
Yang Hye-soon, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics’ Home Appliance Business Division, said, “Samsung Electronics has continuously introduced innovative products that reflect individual tastes and lifestyles based on the integrated slogan ‘Now, make appliances your own.’ The BESPOKE Cube, combined with Samsung’s unique specialized technology and design capabilities, will create a new market.”
