Changwon City Secures 6.3 Billion KRW in National Funding for 'Expansion of Community Sports Facilities' Next Year
Promotion of Renovation and Repair Projects for Four Public Sports Facilities Including Ungnam-dong National Sports Center

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it has secured a total of 6.3 billion KRW in national funds for the expansion support project of local sports facilities and will begin construction starting next year.
Changwon City will expand the Gungnam-dong National Sports Center, and carry out renovation and repair work at four locations including Uichang Sports Center, the deck of Changwon Sports Complex, replacement of natural grass at the main stadium of Changwon Football Center, and replacement of old piping at the Citizen Life Sports Hall. The Gungnam-dong National Sports Center in Seongsan-gu will be built on a total floor area of 5,000㎡ in the Sinchon Natural Disaster Risk Zone and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

Hwang Gyu-jong, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, said, "The Gungnam-dong National Sports Center is being promoted to provide indoor sports activities for citizens in areas neglected in public sports facility support," adding, "We will strive to complete the facilities within the planned period so that citizens can use them conveniently."
