Small-scale meetings held for two weeks from the 6th to 19th... Listening to suggestions and discussing measures to revitalize the local economy
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, will hold small-scale meetings with representatives from 16 neighborhoods over two weeks from the 6th to the 19th.
The purpose is to listen to local issues and suggestions from each neighborhood and discuss ways to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnated due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), with the residents.
The first meeting was held on the morning of the 6th with the Huam-dong representatives. The conversation lasted about an hour in the mayor’s office, followed by a tea time and a commemorative photo session.
Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “Since taking office in the 5th term of the civilian government, I have continued on-site communication every year, but this year the situation is not favorable. We will continuously seek ways to communicate with residents while adhering to quarantine rules.”
Prior to this, Mayor Seong also identified issues by making phone calls to heads of senior centers, professional organizations, and other related institutions. Instead of holding events, he has been sending greetings to residents through videos or letters.
