Damyang-gun Welcomes Over 80,000 Visitors During Chuseok Holiday Period
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] It has been confirmed that more than 87,000 tourists visited Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do during the recent Chuseok holiday.
According to Damyang-gun on the 6th, a total of 87,446 people visited 17 major tourist sites during the Chuseok holiday, with the highest number of visitors recorded on the day after Chuseok, October 2nd, when 30,230 visitors were counted.
By tourist site, Meta Provence, Juknokwon, and Meta Land ranked in order of most visitors.
Although this number of visitors decreased by 620 compared to last year (88,066), the average number of visitors during the holiday was 17,490. It is predicted that if the major tourist sites had been operating normally on Chuseok day, the number of tourists would have exceeded 100,000. This is evaluated as a strong performance as a representative tourist city of Jeollanam-do despite the COVID-19 situation.
Additionally, Damyang-gun has transformed the entire county into a tourist destination that captivates visitors, with attractions such as the golden rice fields during the farming season, cosmos flower paths throughout the county, and pink muhly grass next to the Bamboo Museum, beyond the major tourist sites.
