[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyeon-jin] Donald Trump, the President of the United States, who contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), was discharged from the hospital and returned to the White House on the afternoon of the 5th (local time), just three days after being admitted. Around 6:40 PM, he left Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland wearing a suit and a white mask, raising his fist toward reporters.

Afterward, President Trump moved by car and then took a helicopter to the White House. The helicopter arrived at the White House around 6:55 PM, and President Trump went up to the second-floor balcony, removed his mask, and saluted toward the helicopter. He also gave a thumbs-up with both hands and was seen waving to the reporters.

President Trump announced his positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the early morning of the 2nd and was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that evening for treatment. The medical team treating President Trump held a press conference at the hospital on the same day, stating that while he has not completely escaped a dangerous situation, he has met or exceeded the criteria necessary for discharge.
